Ahmedabad city

AHMEDABAD


Ahmedabad is the largest city and former capital of Gujarat state. This is a city situated at the bank of Sabarmati River. 


By the Forbes magazine Ahmedabad is the third fastest growing city in the world and considered as the city that is best for living in India. Moreover, Ahmedabad was declared as India's first UNESCO(United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) world heritage city.




Transportations


There are different types of transportations systems available in Ahmedabad. For instance AMTS, BRTS, GSRTC, RAILWAY and now metro train also comprise of these transportations, which is under construction in some phases.


BRTS(Bus Rapid Transit System) is being successful in India.


Historical places


On the other hand, Ahmedabad has many historical places that make it a beautiful and renowned city all over the world. For example Sabarmati ashram, Kankaria lake(The logo of state bank of India based on kankaria lake), Jama masjid, Siddi saiyyed mosque, Dada hari ki vav, Kalupur Swaminarayan temple(built by God Swaminarayan), Jhulta minar, ISKCON temple(International Society for Krishna Consciousness), Lal darwaja, Vaishnodevi temple, Hathisingh Jain temple, Tomb of Ahmed shah and ahmed shah mosque, Bhadra fort & Teen darvaza. All places have their own importance.

 

NEW CONSTRUCTION

(Sardar Patel stadium)


Recently the government built the largest stadium in the world near the bank of Sabarmati river. The name of the stadium is Sardar Patel stadium, with seating capacity of 110000.


However, based on capacity , it is the second largest stadium. First largest stadium located in North Korea, with seating capacity 114000.


Ahmedabad is also known for delicious foods that is why people are wandering late at night for this. Manek chowk area is special for hangouts, where all types of delicious foods people have available.
